What is your compensation?

“I’ll be bluntly transparent with you, I am 31 years old. We have 1 kid and my wife is pregnant with our 2nd kid and kids are expensive. I am looking to move out of professional sports because of it. I make about $75,000 in salary which to be fair when I was 22 would be great… I never really knew the cost of living until recently and the cost of living since the pandemic has just gotten really expensive.”

“I had this whole fantasy situation in my head that I would work in pro sports for a while and make decent money. I know I’ll have to work a lot and I’m ok with it because I’ll be able to have my family come to spring training with me and my kids can run on the fields. Unfortunately, in this industry we can’t do that because our significant other needs to work since we don’t make a lot of money. Being gone for 3-4 weeks straight starts to become really stressful.”
